Josh and I celebrated our one year anniversary on September 30th and since we were headed towards Oregon to capture Drew and Liv’s wedding day we decided to go a little earlier and stay on the coast for a few days. Do you know those completely unplanned moments in time that blow you away at the sheer happenstance of what just unfolded before you? Well, that is what happened on October 1st. Let me explain… Josh and I had toured the Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park that morning and afternoon and decided to go to this little unknown beach that I had stumbled across; it was highly recommended by the locals of Brookings, OR. We made a delicious dinner, packed it up in our darling little picnic basket and headed to the beach. We enjoyed eating as the waves crashed melodiously and the salty breeze playfully swept by. We had purposefully come to the beach in the evening for three reasons, One: to rummage around rocks in search of tide pools and sea creatures at low tide. Two: Take pictures in the luscious golden light with our camera, handy remote and handy-dandy tripod, and last but not least, just to glory in the beauty of the gorgeous canvas the Lord had painted for us to enjoy. As we were happily tripping over rocks, snapping pictures here and there, and playfully bantering back and forth for some time Josh noticed that a couple on the beach kept laughing, possibly at us. I was completely oblivious because at that moment I was intent on taking a picture of a sea anemone. *smile* Josh slides his sunglasses down over his eyes and does a casual nonchalant panoramic scan, then says, “Brooke, don’t look now but we may know that couple behind us.” I looked then, quickly, too quickly because I didn’t recognize them. I was simply confused. There is no way we would know anyone on this beach. We are on a small beach miles away from anyone we would know. By this time the couple starts whistling and I take a closer look. It was Drew and Liv! Fancy meeting them here! Wow! During the planning stage I hadn’t thought about telling Liv that Josh and I may be coming to Oregon sooner then their wedding… I figured she had so much on her plate that she didn’t need to know my plans on top of all the other plans on her plate. Well, long story short, they and their families drove 2 and a half hours to the coast to show Drew’s family the beauty of the Oregon coast, and we happened to be there at the same exact time!  We couldn’t let this wonderful opportunity slip through our hands! So with our soon to be bride and groom, stunning golden light, and camera in hand we set out to capture these unplanned yet fun-filled pictures.
