“Those who look to HIM are radiant.” psalm 34:5a
David and Nicole’s wedding was saturated with HIS joy. Just by looking at David and Nicole’s faces and everyone involved you can just see JOY seeping through ever seam that wove that day together! Not only did we have a swoon-worthy storybook photos with gorgeous golden light as the sun set, and beautiful views, we had two beaming love birds! May the Lord richly bless you both as you begin this journey together! May His face shine upon you and may your faces ever radiate with glory and joy of the LORD Most High!
A glimpse of David and Nicole’s relationship: Though we met and were both involved in Ellerslie since the Fall of 2011, it wasn’t until about a year ago now when we both went on a trip with four Ellerslie students/interns to South Sudan (May-June 2013) when we first really started to get to know one another. God built such a beautiful friendship between us starting then and over the summer.
We started our relationship on October 31, 2013 and then a lot of the time we spent together was at Panera or different coffee shops in Fort Collins as we both typically had a lot of things to be doing (Ellerslie work, school, studying, etc).
We both love being outside and music (a very wide variety!). We’ve read a couple of books together during our relationship and engagement, and both enjoy that. We’ve been working with a small group of friends from Ellerslie with a refugee family in Denver and desire to be involved in full-time ministry whether here in the United States or overseas. It is so exciting to us that God is calling us to serve together.
Even though being relatively close in distance (David in Denver, me in Windsor in the fall) and now just across the Ellerslie lake from each other, starting from the first day of our relationship we have written letters. David’s letters to me often included quotes by Fanny Crosby (see below) and part of my Christmas present was a beautiful old book of some of her early poetry.
“In His safe and holy keeping,
‘Neath the shadow of His wing,
Gladly in His love confiding,
May our souls His praises sing”
(in the letter that David wrote me the night we started our relationship)
such a tender embrace.
oh that face!
“I am safe in the ark; I have folded my wings
On the bosom of mercy divine;
I am so filled with the light, of Thy presence so bright,
And the joy that will ever be mine.’
“Shout for joy, ye realms of night,
Christ the Lord is King;
Hail the beams of Gospel light,
Christ the Lord is King!”
“Hand in hand we’ll journey on,
Reaching forward to the prize,
Hoping, trusting in the Lord,
Where all our vigor lies.”
(in the letter that was part of the proposal the day we got engaged)
